1.  13 were merchants.   35 had legal training, though not all were practicing attorneys. 

2.  3 were physicians.  2 were small farmers. 

3.  Only 9 were born outside the 13 colonies.   Their average lifespan was about 67.

4.   56 delegates attended the First Continental Congress.  The Continental Association administered boycott actions against Great Britain.

5.   Benjamin Franklin was a delegate who represented Pennsylvania.   John Hancock was president of the Second Continental Congress. 

6.  The delegates were elected by their colonial assemblies.  12 of the 13 colonies sent delegates.

7.  The Declaration of Independence was signed July 4, 1776.   Congress voted to declare independence from Great Britain on July 2, 1776.  John Adams wanted to celebrate Independence Day on July 2 instead of July 4.
